Man and van in Tunbridge Wells
The smaller end — a single room, a flat, a saleroom collection, or one heavy piece that will not go in a car. Two people and a van, booked by the job.
Not everything needs a Luton and four people. A room going across town, a flat being emptied for a sale, a single heavy piece bought at a saleroom — man and van covers it, with the same crews and the same protection.
What it suits
- Flats and single rooms across TN1 to TN4
- Saleroom, dealer and antique-shop collections
- Moves out to Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Crowborough and the villages between
- One awkward item: a sofa, a fridge-freezer, an upright piano, a chest
- Clearing a storage unit into a new address
Saleroom collections
Worth its own note because the area generates so many. Auction pieces are frequently older and more fragile than they look, rarely come with any packing, and often have to leave within a fixed window. Tell us what it actually is — a marble-topped washstand and a pine chest are not the same collection — and what the saleroom's loading arrangements are.
Where it stops being right
Around a well-filled one-bed. Past that it becomes two trips and a long day, which is more than a house removal would have cost. Describe the load honestly and we will tell you which side of the line you are on.
The awkward addresses
Small loads come out of the hardest buildings here — converted villas with a staircase that turns twice, flats above shops on streets with loading restrictions, and period terraces with a shared front door. We ask the same short list every time: floor, lift, stairwell turn, and where the van can legally stand.
Booking
Both addresses, a list or photograph, and the floor at each end. Weekends and month-ends go first.
Worth asking
Small-move questions
One person or two?
Two, on anything with furniture in it. One and a van is fine for cartons. A sofa down three floors of a converted villa is not a one-person job.
Do you carry, or just drive?
Carry — that is the job. If you genuinely only want a vehicle and a driver while you do the lifting, say so and we will price it that way.
Can you collect from a saleroom or dealer?
Regularly — the area generates a lot of it. Saleroom pieces are frequently older, heavier and more fragile than they look and rarely come packed, so tell us what it actually is and whether there is a loading window.
Do you cover Tonbridge for small jobs?
Yes, and the villages between. On a small job travel is a bigger share of the total than on a house move, so we price it honestly rather than absorbing it.
When does it stop being the cheap option?
Around a well-filled one-bed. Past that it becomes two trips and a long day, which costs more than a proper removal.
Next step
Got a small move on?
Two addresses, the floor at each end, and a rough list or a photo. We will tell you what it needs.
