Where we work

Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge are the core — TN1 to TN4 and TN9 to TN11 — with Southborough between them, Pembury and the orchard country east, and the lanes out towards Groombridge and Crowborough.

Long-distance and European moves go from the same yards. The A21 north to the M25 opens everything else; the Kent crossings are close enough that a European load is at the coast well inside its first leg.

Why the building comes first

In most towns the contents are the fragile part. Here it is frequently the house. Lime plaster marks under a knock that painted plaster would shrug off, original boards scuff, and a Regency door frame does not forgive a corner taken at speed.

So protection goes down before anything moves and the route through the house is agreed rather than improvised. It costs time at the front of the day and saves a conversation about making good at the end of it — which on lime plaster is expensive and slow.

Surveys, not room counts

We survey before quoting, at the property or by video. Half of what decides a move here is invisible from a room count: the staircase that turns twice, the standing point two streets away, the cellar nobody mentioned, the garden store that is definitely coming, and the pieces that need cases rather than blankets.

A number produced without seeing those is a guess that gets corrected on the day, usually upwards. We would rather spend the time first.

What we say about time and cost

We quote in writing after a survey, and the written quote is the number. If something genuinely changes — a second address appears, or the chain moves — we tell you what it means before we act on it rather than after.

We do not publish prices or transit windows on this site, because neither is meaningful before we have seen the job. What we can tell you in advance is exactly what is included and what would change it.

Small jobs too

A single room, a saleroom collection or one heavy piece gets the same crews and the same protection as a five-bedroom house. It is a smaller vehicle and a shorter day, not a lower standard.

What we do not do

We do not quote before we understand the job. We do not promise a transit time we cannot stand behind. We do not take on a property without establishing that we can physically reach it. And we do not claim awards, accreditations, press coverage or customer numbers we have not got — if it is not on this site, it is because it is not true yet.

Cover

Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies. The contractual position is on the terms page.
